The Cardinals announced this morning that the construction of Ballpark Village will likely be delayed at least another year.
The team expected to start selling bonds this spring that would help pay for the construction. Chairman Bill DeWitt Jr. said that doesn't look like it's going to happen because of the faltering economy. That makes sense. But if they wouldn't have drug their feet up to this point, the project would already be built and being blamed for the team not having any money to sign players.

If they can't build it now, fine. But plant some grass for crying out loud and turn it into a park until Ballpark Village is ready to go. IF it is EVER ready to go. Maybe they could bring in a ferris wheel, a merry go round and even put a whiffle ball field where home plate used to be to give fans someplace to hang out before or after games that doesn't look like an abandoned construction site.
