Class AAA outfielder Jon Jay has made a strong showing in the Venezuelan Winter League. He's hitting .318 with eight doubles and a homer in 110 at bats. His best game came Nov. 11 when he went 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles, a triple and three runs scored. He also drove in a run. Over his last 10 games, Jay is hitting .342 with six doubles.

He's struck out 22 times and walked 12.
Starting pitcher Evan MacLane leads Cardinals winter league pitchers with 30 innings under his belt. Playing in the Dominican League, he is 4-0 with a 1.80 ERA. He's struck out 24 and walked five while allowing 26 hits. In his most recent start, MacLane pitched seven innings, allowing seven hits and one run. He struck out five and walked one.
