While it looks like the only way Matt Holliday while come back to the Cardinals is by default, at least one big market team doesn't seem to be interested in the bidding.
According to the New York Post, the Yankees would prefer to keep Johnny Damon in left field on a short term basis and re-sign Hideki Matsui and Andy Pettitte than spend big cash on a longterm deal for Matt Holliday.
That only leaves the Mets, Angels, Giants, Braves, Red Sox as major concerns and the Dodgers Cubs, White Sox and Tigers as possibilities if they are able to move some payroll and make room.
