Former Cards coach Riggleman gets nod from Nats

The Nationals officially announced today that former Cardinals coach and minor league director Jim Riggleman will be back next season to manage their club.

Riggleman led the rebuilding Nats, who saw the spectacular debut of phenom pitcher Steven Strasburg end just as dramatically as he burst on the scene, to 69 wins in 2010. But the team has a solid young nucleus and seems to be willing to open the checkbook to fill in the holes, so things could turn around quickly...

Riggleman's a good guy who deserved another chance to manage at the big league level. So it's good to see the Nationals give him a second season to show what he can do.
