The Cardinals have apparently filled the Dennys Reyes role in the bullpen with a former Blue Jay.
The team announced the signing of Brian Tallet Tuesday. Terms were not disclosed.
Most recently of the Blue Jays, Tallet is a 33-year-old southpaw who is 16-23 with a 4.65 ERA in his eight-year career.
Tallet wasn't very good in 2010 when he posted a 2-6 record with a 6.40 ERA for the Blue Jays. The club tried to outright him to Class AAA and he refused, thereby becoming a free agent. His best year was 2008 when he was 1-2 with a 2.88 ERA.
Over his career, Tallet has held lefties to a .245 batting average with 119 strikeouts in 555 at bats.
