Pedro Feliz, who proclaimed when traded last season to the Cardinals from Houston that he was not the .221 hitter his batting average indicated -- then hit .208 for the rest of the year with St. Louis, has found a new home in Kansas City.
The Royals inked the well-traveled infielder to an $800,000 minor league contract with an invitation to spring training and a chance to make $200,000 in incentives. It's a whopper of a pay cut. Feliz, who will be 36 in April, signed a one-year deal with the Astros for the 2010 season that paid $4.5 million.
He previously played for the Giants and Phillies and has a career .250 batting average with 140 homers in his 11 seasons.
