The Cardinals apparently have negotiated a compromise plan with Albert Pujols that will allow the susperstar slugger to get back into games without exposing him to the possibility of getting while playing the field.
Pujols told the media before Tuesday's game against the Reds that Cardinals brass has informed him he'll be used as a pinch hitter for the next several days before returning to the lineup on a fulltime basis.
So it appears the Redbirds will try to protect their best player from a collision in the field while getting the many benefits of his bat until at least after the All-Star break.
