Howard Hilton, a member of the 1990 Cardinals, has passed away in Ventura, Calif. He was 47 years old.
Reports only say that Hilton died in a hospital. No Cause of death was given.
A 6-foot-3, 280-pound righty from Oxnard, Calif., made the Cardinals roster in the spring of 1990 and made his major league debut in the season opener. But he made only one other appearance in that opening series against the Expos and his major league career was over.
He totalled three innings pitched with two hits, three walks and two strikeouts. He didn't allow any runs for a career ERA of 0.00.
