NLCS game four: Bottom of the third

Rafeal Furcal at least took a couple of pitches his second time through the order. But the result was the same: a fly out to centerfield. Has anyone mentioned to him that his is the lead-off hitter? Manager Tony La Russa's decision to start Allen Craig paid off in the second when the outfielder hit a solo homer into the right field bullpen to extend St. Louis' lead to 2-0. Albert Pujols hit a 1-2 pitch deep into the hole at shortstop for a groundout. David Freese hit a hard groundball to short that went through Yunieski Bettancourt as he tried to play it on the backhand. Wolf walked Holliday on four straight high pitches to bring Yadier Molina to the plate. The Cardinals catcher looked like he was playing golf when he reached for a very low pitch and hit it right to shortstop to end the inning.

The Birds scored again. But they also left more runs on the table for a second time. One two-out hit and this game could be much more comfortable.

Cardinals 2, Milwaukee 0.
