2011 World Series game two: Seventh inning

Matt Holliday struck out to start the bottom of the seventh inning. With one out David Freese singled to extend his post-season hitting streak to 12 games.

Yadier Molina put a good swing on the first pitch he saw and drove it to left field. But on a cold and breezy night the ball died short of the warning track to make it a man on first base with two outs and Nick Punto at the plate.

The Cardinals second baseman singled off first baseman Michael Young's glove to make it first and third with two gone. And with that stroke of the bat, both starters were chased from the game as Allen Craig came in to pinch hit for Jaime Garcia and the Rangers countered with Alexi Ogando.

During game one of the series Craig got the winning hit off Ogando and Texas manager Ron Washington took a lot of criticism for the move. And he's likely to take a lot more tonight because Craig punched a fastball over Ian Kinsler's head for an RBI hit, the first run of the game.

Cardinals 1, Rangers 0.
