The Marlins have offered Albert Pujols a 10-year contract, according to several sources. The dollars are unclear, but it's expected that the offer is for in excess of $200 million.
It looks like this is all going to go down today, one way or another.
According to USA Today, the Cardinals are expected to make a counter offer sometime today which could be the only shot they get to try to keep Pujols. I still think that the way to a deal is a contract that pays Pujols $200-$225 million over eight years.
