Apparently 2012 will be the year that Koyie Hill has the chance to experience the right side of the Cardinals-Cubs rivalry.
The Redbirds signed Hill to a minor league deal with an invitation to spring training where he will compete with Bryan Anderson and Tony Cruz to be the understudy to Yadier Molina.
While we will all try to forget that he was a Cub -- as well as a Diamondback and Dodger -- Hill is an inspiring character. He cut off his thumb as severely damaged his four fingers on his throwing hand in a 2007 table saw incident. He had the digits repaired and re-attached and, after extensive therapy, he was able to resume his baseball career.
