The career nosedive of former Cardinals lefty Dennys Reyes continues.
He was released Sunday by the Orioles who let him go because he failed to honor the minor league contact he signed in January. In short, he never showed up for spring training.
I can't imagine that sort of behavior is going to make other teams too eager to take a chance on Reyes, who is 34. But, then again, he's played for 11 different teams already -- not including Baltimore -- so it seems like his reputation has been spread across the landscape.
Reyes was 3-1 with a 3.55 ERA in 2010 for St. Louis. He gave up 21 walks and 34 hits in 38 innings to account for nearly 1.5 baserunners per inning pitched.

In 2011 Reyes managed only 1 2/3 innings for the Red Sox with a 16.40 ERA.
If he would have made the Orioles roster, Reyes would have made $900,000 in 2012.
