The Cardinals have placed outfielder Allen Craig and pitcher Kyle McClellan on the 15 day disabled list.
In their places, the club has recalled outfielder Adron Chambers and pitcher Brandon Dickson from Class AAA Memphis.
Chambers is hitting .308 with a homer, a triple and six doubles for the Birds' top minor league team. Meanwhile Dickson, who was scheduled to pitch tonight for Memphis against the Las Vegas 51s, is 2-3 with a 3.42 ERA.
Both Chambers and Dickson made their major league debut last year with St. Louis.
Chambers hit .375 in a tiny 8 at-bat sample. But he played in 18 games, often working as a pinch runner or a defensive fill in.
Dickson pitched in four games, racking up 8 1/3 innings with nine hits and three earned runs allowed. He surrendered two homers and struck out seven while walking three.
I wonder if the Cardinals regret giving up on Rule Five Draftee Erik Komatsu at this point.
They let Komatsu go when players started coming off the disabled list and he was snapped up off the waiver wire by Minnesota. He's played in 11 games so far with the Twins for a combined .204 batting average with one RBI.
