Former Cardinals reliever Josh Kinney has resurfaced with the Seattle Mariners.
Kinney, who pitched with the St. Louis from 2006-09, made a big impact on the Redbirds down the stretch and in the post season to help the Cardinals to the '06 World Series championship. But he suffered a slew of arm problems in 2007 that clouded his big league future.
Out of the big leagues in 2010, Kinney pitched 13 games with the White Sox in 2007 and had no record with a 6.60 ERA. But he opened eyes with the 20 strikeouts he amassed over 23 2/3 innings and landed with the Mariners organization in 2012.
He pitched a third of an inning July 3 to mark his return to the big leagues, getting Seattle out of a two-out jam.
