Cardinals shortstop Rafael Furcal appears to be headed for the disabled list with a problem in his throwing arm.
The Redbirds are, apparently, concerned that it could be a season-ending problem, especially since the season is rapidly nearing its end.
According to Fox Sports, the club has no intention of going outside the organization for a guy like Caesar Isturis who was recently released by the Nationals after they claimed him from Milwaukee. Instead, utilityman Daniel Descalso and minor league infielders Ryan Jackson and Pete Konzma will get a shot to be the starting shortstop.
