Cardinals need to do something, not try to do too much

The Cardinals need to discover their mis-placed offense pronto if they plan to get their NLDS against the Nationals turned around.

So far, in two playoff games, the Cardinals have managed mind hits. One safety every other inning isn't going to get the job done. Not even if you have Adam Wainwright pitching his brains out for your club.

I think the Cardinals were looking to make a statement Sunday when they should have let the action of executing the fundamentals do their talking. Instead of trying to hit a home run with the bases loaded and no outs, I would have been satisfied with Allen Craig trying to hit a lazy fly to right field. A sacrifice fly or two would have probably made the difference in a nip and tuck game.
