Former Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols underwent surgery last week, according to the Los Angeles press, for a knee injury he suffered in August.
Pujols apparently hurt the knee Aug. 22 and was forced to miss Anaheim's next four games. After that, he had trouble playing in the field and played about two-thirds of the Angels' remaining games as designated hitter.
According to the report, Pujols is expected to be ready in time for spring training.
