Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina has been named the National League's Gold Glove catcher for the fifth consecutive year.
Molina threw out 48 percent of base runners who tried to steal against him this year in earning the honor as the Senior Circuit's best receiver.
Molina is the first Cardinal catcher to win five Gold Gloves and the first St. Louis player to win five in a row since center fielder Jim Edmonds did it in 2005.
He was the only St. Louis player to win a Gold Glove in 2012. Jon Jay, who made a slew of highlight reel catches last season in centerfield, wasn't even named as a finalist for the award.
