Cardinals fans might not have Nyjer Morgan to kick around anymore.
The controversial outfielder known more for his multiple personalities and controversial statements than his play on the field, got a major dose of reality this week when the Brewers demoted him to Class AAA and kicked him off their 40-man roster.
The moves were made as part of the procedure of releasing Morgan whom Milwaukee does not want to pay more than $2.5 million in 2013. Eligible for arbitration, if the alter ego of Tony Plush was kept around he could be awarded that much through baseball's goofy arbitration system.
Major League scouts predict Morgan, 32, will have to sign a minor league deal with an invitation to spring training if he hopes to make the big leagues as a reserve outfielder.

I wonder if the Reds might sign Morgan to consolidate all the loud-mouthed critics of the Cardinals on one team.
