Rumors are flying that Cardianals free agent Kyle Lohse is close to finally finding a new home -- and that his new club will be the Texas Rangers.
I think that's a bad deal for everyone because Lohse is going from a very fair ballpark to one of the most hitter-biased fields in the majors leagues. And it stinks that the Cardinals are going to let a guy who has done very well for them as a top of the rotation starter walk away while Chris Carpenter's career seems to have come to a sudden end.
At the Rangers' home field Lohse has a .344 batting average against with eight home runs allowed in 125 at bats. His ERA is 6.75.
A large portion of those scary statistics came a long time ago when Lohse played for the Twins. But it's easy to imagine his numbers will be much worse than at Busch Stadium where he's 30-17 with a 3.40 ERA.
