Former Cardinals pitcher Kyle McClellan, a St. Louis native in his first season with another club than the Redbirds, has been shut down due to health issues.
According to ESPN, McClellan couldn't make it through warm ups Monday before the shoulder that knocked him out last season started to bark.
McClellan said there is no time table for his return. He is hopeful that he'll be able to pitch without pain after he builds up the muscle in back of his shoulder.
