This is where I am supposed to say that the important thing is that the Cardinals won both of their home series and it doesn't matter that they blew a three-run lead at the start of the eighth inning to lose Sunday to the Milwaukee Brewers.
Blah, blah, blah...
But in the real world, it really stunk that Jaime Garcia turned in an excellent performance and then the usual suspects frittered away the lead away.
Trevor Rosenthal gave up a two-run homer to Ryan Braun that just cleared the wall in the right field corner. Then Mitchell Boggs gave up two hits and an earned run without recording an out to tie the game at three. He left with men on first and third with no outs.

The Cardinals got a second chance when the Brewers tried to bunt for some reason and the batter popped out to catcher Yadier Molina. The Cardinals were able with one out to cut down a runner at the plate as he tried to score and then end the inning without further damage.
But they couldn't score in the bottom of the ninth and the Brewers were able to score with a solo homer in the top of the 10th.
Cardinals Star of the Game: Garcia allowed seven hits over seven innings and walked one while striking out five.
Cardinals Play of the Game: In the fourth inning Matt Adams hit his third homer of the home stand.
Lowlight: A bad call at the plate ended up costing the Cardinals the game. Allen Craig was called out on a throw in the third to end the inning. The replay showed that Craig touched the plate before he was tagged.
