According to a report in the Boston Globe, former St. Louis Cardinals slugger Allen Craig could end up back in the National League Central Division.
The Boston Red Sox, attempting to clear a log jam of corner outfielders, have talked with the Redbirds' bitter rival, the Milwaukee Brewers, about a Craig trade.
Scouts believe that "there is no way Craig is done as a premier hitter at age 30" and blamed his woes on a lingering foot injury that dates back to late in the 2013 season, according to the Boston Globe piece.
If Craig could regain his health, he could be a major boost to the Milwaukee offense which is still struggling to replace the production lost when Prince Fielder left as a free agent.
The Miami Marlins have also been reported to be interested in Craig who, along with Joe Kelly, was sent to Boston in a 2014 trade deadline deal that sent starting pitcher John Lackey to St. Louis.
