Pro football back in St. Louis. Here is a schedule of events for BattleHawks opener

For the first time since Dec. 17, 2015 — 1,529 days ago — pro football returns to the Dome at America’s Center in downtown St. Louis on Sunday.

The cries of “Kakaw” will be heard loud and clear as an estimated expected crowd of over 28,000 fans celebrate the rebirth of pro football in St. Louis, “XFL style” when the St. Louis BattleHawks host the New York Guardians.

BattleHawks personnel said Wednesday remaining ticket inventory was very low for the much-anticipated home debut. Tickets for the Feb. 29 home game against Seattle are also going quickly.

The New York-St. Louis game is set for 2 p.m. and will be shown on ESPN.

Following is a schedule of events for the BattleHawks home opener.

St. Louis BattleHawks Battle March Begins at Convention Plaza

  • 10:45 a.m. Marching bands from Hazelwood Central, Mater Dei and O’Fallon will lead a parade of fans from Convention Plaza to Baer Plaza, located at Broadway and Convention, marking the official open of the St. Louis BattleHawks Pregame Tailgate delivered by Schnucks.

  • 11 a.m. The official BattleHawks tailgate is free and open to the public. The tailgate will feature entertainment from DJ Big Papa G, football-themed games and activities for all ages, food and beverage available for purchase, giveaways and more.

Official partners and radio affiliates participating in the St. Louis BattleHawks Pregame Tailgate delivered by Schnucks include: Anheuser Busch, Ballpark Village, Dr Pepper/Keurig, Levy Catering, LOCO Radio, Lou Fusz Athletic, Lou Fusz Automotive Network, Schnucks and 101 ESPN.

St. Louis BattleHawks Pregame Party at FOX Sports Midwest Live! Opens

  • 11 a.m. This is a ticketed event. Fans must have a valid game ticket and pregame party ticket to attend.

St. Louis BattleHawks Player Walk at Baer Plaza

  • 11:15 a.m. Following the Battle March from Convention Plaza, fans will be able to greet and cheer on BattleHawks players at Baer Plaza as they arrive for the home opener.

St. Louis BattleHawks Party Zone Opens at The Dome at America’s Center

  • Noon. The Party Zone is located on the 200 Level, overlooking the North Endzone. The Party Zone is open to all fans with a valid game ticket. Fans must use Entrance C or Entrance D to access the Party Zone prior to public gates open at 12:30 pm.

Gates Open at The Dome at America’s Center

  • 12:30 p.m. All fans will receive a rally towel upon entry into The Dome at America’s Center.Public entrances to The Dome for ticketed fans are Entrance A, Entrance B, Entrance C and Entrance D. ADA accessible entrances are Plaza Courtyard near Entrance A and Broadway Central Entrance - South.
  • 2 p.m. St. Louis BattleHawks Kickoff powered by Ameren

How to watch

Coverage of the St. Louis BattleHawks Kickoff power by Ameren begins at 2 p.m. on ESPN. The game will also be streamed live on the ESPN app and online at espn.com/watch. Fans can also keep tabs on thescore from their mobile device using the XFL app.

Getting to the game

All parking lots are managed by St. Louis Parking Company Downtown.

MetroLink is a convenient alternative to driving. To avoid the traffic congestion and the cost of parking ongame days, fans can use free Park-Ride lots along the MetroLink line and take the train to Convention CenterStation. Fans’ mobile devices serve as their tickets. Fans may view, transfer, or sell tickets using the XFLOfficial App on iOS and Android devices. To manage tickets, fans may simply download/open the app,click “Tickets” at the bottom of the screen, select their team, and log-in to their account.Fans are encouraged to access their tickets prior to gameday and to keep these important mobileticketing tips in mind:

  • Mobil tickets: Please do not screenshot mobile tickets. The XFL is implementing a rotating barcode so a screenshot of a ticket will NOT get fans into the stadium
  • Apple users: View tickets in the XFL app prior to gameday and add the tickets to digital Wallet
  • Android users: View tickets before heading to the stadium for easy entry on gameday

Prohibited Items and Clear Bag Policy

Prohibited items include purses larger than a clutch bag, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs,cinch bags, seat cushions, luggage of any kind, computer bags, and camera bags or any bag largerthan the permissible.
