Things to do today: Free concerts, barbecue and ‘Zombie Prom’
Looking for something to do today? Here are a few ideas:
FREE CONCERTS: Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the sounds of The Ron Mitchell Band at 7 p.m. Thursday at Bellevue Park. Also, the Edwardsville Municipal Band will perform at 8 p.m. Thursday at Edwardsville City Park, 112 S. Buchanan.
GRANGE BARBECUE: Pork steaks, brats, potato salad, baked beans and other sides and desserts are on the menu at Turkey Hill Grange’s barbecue from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Grange hall, Greenmount Road and Illinois 15 in Belleville. Carryouts are available.
“ZOMBIE PROM”: Just your luck, you finally get a date for the prom and he’s dead. Well, not exactly dead dead. Find out what trouble a zombie can cause at a high school prom in this musical staged by Hard Road Theatre Productions at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at Highland High School Kennel, 12760 Troxler Ave. in Highland. It features a cast of 25 students from Highland, Greenville and O’Fallon. Tickets are $9 online at www.hardroad.org; $10 at the door.
