Things to do Thursday: Free concerts, a movie sing-along and two theater productions
FREE CONCERTS: Jim Chadderton & The Special Edition will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday at Belleville’s Public Square. Bring a lawn chair. Up the road at The Grove Memorial Park in Grafton, The Happenstance Acoustic Trio will entertain.
‘GREASE’-ALONG: Try to stay in tune with John Travolta and Olivia Newton John when the Wildey Theater in Edwardsville present a “Grease” Sing-along at 7 p.m. Thursday. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children.
SWANSEA MARKET: Need some fresh corn, tomatoes or watermelon. The Swansea Farmer’s Market has what you need, plus baked goods, brats, dogs and craft for sale, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday in the Rural King parking lot at 2801 N. Illinois St.
RUMMAGE AND BAKE SALE: Be among the first to check out the goods at United Methodist Church’s rummage and bake sale from a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at 107 W. Hanover in New Baden. It continues Friday and Saturday.
ON STAGE: “Jesus Christ Superstar,” a rock musical that brings Jesus into the modern world, opens at 8 p.m Thursday in Breese’s Northside Park. Tickets to the Clinton County Showcase production are $12 for adults, $10 for students. It continues through Sunday. If it’s laughs and maybe a few tears you are looking for, check out “Cheaper By the Dozen” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Multipurpose Building, 208 Kaskaskia St. in New Athens. The Open House Theater is looking to pack the seats tonight with $5 tickets. It continues Friday and Saturday with tickets $10 for adults; $5 for kids.
