Things to do Tuesday: ‘Oklahoma!’ and meteor shower
“OKLAHOMA”: In cas you haven’t noticed, the Illinois corn is as high as an elephant’s eye these days, so it’s OK if you want to sing along at They Muny’s last show of the season at 8:15 pm. Tuesday at the outdoor theater in St. Louis’ Forest Park. It continues through Sunday.
LOOK UP EARLY: This is actually a head’s-up for you to set your alarm for the wee hours of Wednesday morning to view the Perseid meteor showers. They will be at their peak (scientists expect you to be able to see 80 to 100 “shooting stars” per hour with the naked eye on a clear night) Wednesday through Friday morning. Best viewing here shoud be between 4:30 and 5:30 a.m. Look to the north above the horizon. Get away from the city lights if you can. This is supposed to be the best show since 2010 because there will be no moonlight to interfere.
