Things to do Monday: Children’s China and aliens and androids
KIDS MAGIC: Looking for someplace to take the little kids now that school has starter for the big kids? The Magic House Children’s Museum in Kirkwood, Mo., is open from 9:30 to 5:30. Besides the big slide and other usual exhibits that might make you hair stand straight out, check out the Children’s China Exhibit and Forts and Clubhouses. Kids can take part in a Chinese New Year celebration and visit a Chinese classroom, park and restaurant. At Forts and Clubhouses, you can build your own and play in it and get some ideas for one you can make at home.
ALIEN WORLDS: The St. Louis Science Center has an out of this world exhibit — “Alien Worlds and Androids” — that will give you a new perspective on the age-old question “Are We Alone?” You can see what makes famous movie robots, such as C3PO and Iron Man, tick and get a good idea of who might be out there. The center is open from 9:30 to 5:30 at 5050 Oakland Ave. in St. Louis. Tickets to the exhibit at $8 for non-members, $6 for children, seniors and military. For tickets, call 314-289-4424. You can pair the exhitib with a showing of “Robots” (11 a.m., 2 and 5 p.m.) on the giant Omnimax scene, for $12 adults, $8 children senior and military.
