Things to do Tuesday: Bluegrass, Elvis and animals
FREE BLUEGRASS: The grass is always greener (bluer?) when George Portz has anything to say about it. Portz and his Friends of Bluegrass will bring their toe-tapping music to Alton’s Hayner Library at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. It’s in the Alton Square Mall.
MEMORIES OF ELVIS: Steve Davis will bring his Elvis show to Glazebrook Park in Godfrey from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. It’s free.
AT THE ZOO: The animals at the St. Louis Zoo might be getting a little lonely on weekdays when all the big kids are in school. The zoo has approximately 18,700 wild animals from 560 species, many rare and endangered. Admission is free. It’s open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some of the exhibits, such as the Sea Lion Show and ($4; children 2 and under free), but they’re free during the first hour the zoo is open. The train is $5 roundtrip. If you go early, you might even see the polar bear Kali out an about. He usually makes an appearance between 8 and 9 a.m. For more informatio, go to www.stlzoo.org
