St. Paul Kirchenfest offers family friendly weekend in Highland
St. Paul Church’s Kirchenfest is two days jam-packed with food, a run, a walk, bicycle ride, bingo, games, an auction, a flea market, a wine garden, raffles and non-stop entertainment. It’s all happening Saturday and Sunday on the church grounds at 1412 Ninth St. in Highland.
On Saturday, get off to a good start with the hearty Bavarian Skillet Breakfast from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Or, if you need to work up an appetite first, join in the Stausenlauf 5K Run/Walk at 8.
The big Kirchenfest auction is from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the North Ten. There’s also a flea market from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Masses at 4 and 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Bingo starts at 5:30.
Entertainment headliners are Dirty Muggs and Baywolfe on Saturday evening and The Fabulous Motown Revue and That’80s Band on Sunday.
On Sunday, the KirchenRide, a bicycle ride of 50 or 15 miles, gets underway at 8, and a chicken dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the air-conditioned parish hall. An outdoor polka Mass is at 10 a.m. Bingo is from 1:30 to 10 p.m.
