From 'Sheep Detectives' to 'Project Hail Mary' 10 movies to stream now

If Fourth of July fireworks aren't your jam, streaming services have plenty of cinematic action for the long holiday weekend.

Want an international mystery? Millie Bobby Brown reunites with on-screen big bro Henry Cavill in Netflix's "Enola Holmes 3." Love horror flicks? Catch up with Samara Weaving in "Ready or Not 2: Here I Come" on Hulu and beware the freaky girl Katie in "Lee Cronin's The Mummy" on HBO Max. Or need a musical pick-me-up? Ralph Fiennes strikes an emotional chord in period drama "The Choral," also on Netflix.

Here are 10 new and notable movies you can stream right now:

'Avatar: Fire and Ash'

James Cameron's third adventure in his blockbuster sci-fi franchise again finds Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña) and their family fighting for freedom on the alien planet Pandora. But the rub this time is the introduction of Varang (Oona Chaplin), an unhinged leader of a tribe who allies herself with human villains.

'The Choral'

Set in 1916, the historical drama stars Ralph Fiennes as the new choirmaster in a small British town where his predecessor – and most of the men in town – have headed off to World War I. He ruffles feathers because of his sexuality and German connections, but starts to get the group into shape after an unorthodox recruitment drive.

'Enola Holmes 3'

In the best of the mystery adventures since 2020's original "Enola," Millie Bobby Brown's young title detective is in Malta to wed her beloved Lord Tewkesbury (Louis Partridge). But when her big bro Sherlock (Henry Cavill) goes missing during the festivities, Enola pauses getting hitched to find him and also unearth a military cover-up.

'Lee Cronin's The Mummy'

Rather than a connection to the Brendan Fraser franchise or a reboot of the 1932 "Mummy," this is more messed-up creepy kid extravaganza. Young Katie (Natalie Grace) goes missing in Egypt, then shows back up in a quasi-mummified state eight years later, creating a living hell for her concerned parents (Jack Reynor and Laia Costa).

'Little Brother'

John Cena flexes his comedic muscles yet again as Rudd, an uptight, control-freak real estate agent. He has his life upturned when Marcus (Eric André), Rudd's onetime "little brother" from a charity program, shows up out of nowhere, causes chaos, wins over Rudd's loved ones and winds up being both clingy and a breath of fresh air.

'Project Hail Mary'

This stunning, rousing sci-fi adventure – the best movie so far this year – stars Ryan Gosling as a middle-school teacher recruited to help figure out why the sun is dimming, which could lead to a new ice age. He also becomes a reluctant astronaut and makes a cosmic BFF in Rocky, a chatty alien engineer, on a last-ditch effort to save mankind.

'Ready or Not 2: Here I Come'

Grace (Samara Weaving) avoided being killed by her demonic cult in-laws in the first "Ready or Not." She's back and the stakes are even higher – and bloodier – in the horror-comedy sequel, which finds Grace being hunted by multiple families of Satanic nutjobs while her estranged sister Faith (Kathryn Newton) is pulled into the mayhem.

'The Sheep Detectives'

The delightful and deceptively deep family mystery comedy stars Hugh Jackman as an English shepherd who is found dead. Thankfully, he read detective novels to his flock, so sharp ewe Lily (voiced by Julia Louis-Dreyfus) leads a determined bunch of crime-solving critters to figure out whodunit.

'Strung'

In the psychological thriller, Laila (Chloe Bailey) takes a job as a live-in music tutor for a wealthy family and their daughter Zuri (Romy Woods), who often wears an oversized Zulu warrior mask. As the two form a close bond, Laila discovers there's some weird business going on within the house that threatens both of them.

'Summer's Last Resort'

Violet McGraw stars in the comedy as Summer, a teenage girl who's aghast when her mom (Sophia Bush) – who has a tendency to date the wrong guys – gets together with her super-cheesy vice principal (Jerry O'Connell). Summer uses a family trip to a Caribbean resort to cause chaos and sabotage the relationship.
