Things to do Monday: Explore Venice and visit the Garden
VENICE IN COLLINSVILLE: The “Exploring Venice and The Veneto” exhibit is open Monday through Sept. 30 at the Collinsville Library. One of the highlights of the exhibit is a rare Carnivale mask display with ornate masks of the type worn at Venice’s masquerade balls and handmade leather Comedia dell’Arte masks worn in Italian theater. Also included are glassware from Murano, Venetian gondolas, ancient wall drawings and artisan pieces. The exhibit is free and open to the public. The library, is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today.
SMELL THE FLOWERS: With temperatures in the 70s, Monday would be the perfect day to visit Missouri Botanical Garden, 4344 Shaw Blvd. in St. Louis. See what’s in bloom, feed the fish and it’s your last chance to see the Chinese Lantern exhibit. Admission to the garden is $8 for adults, free for children 3-12; the big sale begins Friday. Children’s Garden admission is $8 for adults (includes main garden and Children’s Garden) and $5 for chidren 3-12.
