- Organist Cameron Carpenter — 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Hettenhausen Center for the Arts, McKendree University, Lebanon. Featuring the International Touring Organ. Carpenter is known for bringing a “ferocious intensity to his instrument.”
- Five X 5 Cabaret — 7:30 p.m. Friday, St. Paul’s Historic Heritage Hall, 115 West B St., Belleville. Part of the St. Paul Fine Arts Series. The program features local cabaret performers Ethan Edwards, Liz Murphy, Katie McGrath, Neal Richardson and Alice Kinsella. A free-will offering will be received. Snacks and punch.

- Spring Wildflower Walk — 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, Salt Lick Point Land and Water Reserve, 1309 Limestone Lane, Valmeyer. Free. An expert will lead the group hike on the flat and easy Johnson Trail to view stunning spring wildflowers. Or walk the trail at your leisure, stopping at interpretive stations where attendants will point out the plants in bloom. Co-hosted by the Salt Lick Point Stewardship Committee, the Illinois Nature Preserves Commission, Kaskaskia Valley Audubon Society and Clifftop.
- Quilt Show — 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Immaculate Conception School, 321 S. Metter Ave., Columbia. Friends in Stitches Quilt Guild’s annual quilt show, “Together We Stitch.” Quilts, vendors, demonstrations and a boutique for an admission fee of $4.
- Railroad Club Open House — 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Glen Carbon Fire House/Village Hall, 180 Summit St., Glen Carbon. Watch trains running on the club’s 18-by-27-foot HO scale model railroad.
