Take a Bow Showcase, shrine present “A Broadway ‘Affair to Remember’”

Combine a buffet from an award-winning restaurant with a Broadway-style show with 32 performers and a live orchestra and you have “A Broadway ‘Affair to Remember,” running April 29-May 1 at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows Banquet & Visitor’s Center in Belleville.

Friday and Saturday evenings will feature a dinner buffet of salads, cared roast beef, chicken, a variety of accompaniments, beverages and desserts served at 6 p.m. On Sunday, brunch will feature breakfast items, fruit and pastries, salads, roast beef, chicken, pork tenderloin, beverages and desserts, served at 1 p.m. Accommodations can be made for guests who have dietary restrictions.

Entertainment all three days will include a pre-show by the young Rising Stars group as guests arrive (beginning at 5:45 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 12:15 p.m. Sunday). The Take A Bow Showcase performers and orchestra will perform music and scenes from Broadway shows, including “South Pacific,” “The King and I,” “Phantom of the Opera,” “Mamma Mia,” “Carousel,” “Wicked,” “Anything Goes” and “Les Miserables.” Younger guests and their parents will appreciate moments from family favorites “The Little Mermaid” and “The Lion King.”

Take a Bow Showcase provides training and performance opportunities in music, dance and theater to children, teens and adults throughout the metro-east free of charge. The professional directors are all volunteers.

Tickets that include the buffet, the entertainment, all taxes and gratuities are $35 per adult, half-price for children ages 5-12, children 4 and under eat and see the show free of charge. A limited number of premium tables may be reserved at additional cost. A cash bar will be available.
