Lindsay Lohan's Stepmom Kate Arrested After Allegedly Attacking Ex Michael

Lindsay Lohan's stepmother, Kate Lohan, was arrested in Texas for allegedly attacking the Mean Girls star's father, Michael Lohan.

Court documents obtained by Us Weekly confirmed that Kate, 42, was booked on suspicion of assaulting a family or household member with a previous conviction in Harris County, Texas, on Tuesday, April 14.

Kate was held on a $35,000 bond ahead of an arraignment in court on Thursday, April 16.

TMZ reported that a dispute arose between Kate and her estranged husband, Michael, on Tuesday at her Texas home when they were supposed to exchange their two children. (Kate and Michael share sons Landon, 13, and Logan, 10. Michael is also a father to four grown children - Lindsay, Michael Jr., Ali and Cody - from his marriage to ex-wife Dina Lohan and also shares daughter Ashley Horn with ex Kristi Kaufmann Horn.)

Per the outlet, Kate allegedly punched Michael and gave him a bloody nose during the apparent altercation at her home. She also allegedly threw a steak knife, which reportedly bounced off Michael's chest without injuring him.

Court records obtained by TMZ indicated that Kate was allegedly intoxicated when police arrested her shortly after the incident. At a bond hearing on Tuesday, a judge ordered her to have no contact with Michael for now and take part in alcohol testing.

Us Weekly has reached out to both Michael and Kate for comment.

The former couple have had numerous legal issues since they separated in 2015.

In April 2025, Michael was sentenced to nine months behind bars for violating his parole by allegedly assaulting Kate. He received the prison sentence due to an alleged parole violation stemming from when he pleaded guilty to five counts of patient brokering in Florida in 2022 after referring people to a rehab facility.

At the time of Michael's arrest, Kate broke her silence by telling Radar Online that she was putting her faith in the U.S. justice system.

"I pray that justice prevails through the evidence the courts of Texas and Florida have due to these ongoing felony cases with no bonds," she told the publication in March 2025. "We pray for ongoing privacy during this time."

Michael served time at the Palm Beach County Detention Center in Florida before being released in October 2025.

"I'm thankful for my early release and being reunited with my boys," he told TMZ in October. "This should have never happened. It was wrong! As usual, there's a lot more to the story than what's been reported. I'm just happy to be free and I'm sorry for the negative press it has caused my family."

Michael got together with Kate following his split from Lindsay's mother, Dina, in 2005. A spokesperson for Michael confirmed to Us that he and Kate tied the knot in October 2014.

"It was a beautiful, small ceremony and reception afterward," a source added to Us of the wedding at the time. "Kate and Michael purposely wanted it private as they await the arrival of their second child together."

However, the couple split in December 2015, with Kate later filing for divorce in Florida in September 2018. Kate alleged in court documents that her marriage was "irretrievably broken," though the Lohans never actually followed through with settling their divorce.
