What qualifies you for this position?
“As a resident of the 4th Ward for over 40 years, I decided it was time to get involved. In these times of financial difficulties, it is important to have qualified people making decisions about how to spend taxpayer money. I have been an auditor for 32 years and bring valuable experience to this area. As a property owner, I practice what I preach — I believe that taking care of your property stabilizes neighborhoods. I also participate in multiple neighborhood associations in the West End of Belleville, listening to the concerns of all residents.”
What is the top issue in your race, and how would you address it?
“A top priority for me is maintaining the integrity of our neighborhoods and the value of our property. A crime-free housing ordinance was passed, and now we need to be vigilant about enforcing it. The establishment of a City Court would expedite resolution of housing violations, instead of these matters being tied up in Circuit Court. Many streets, sidewalks and curbs are in need of repair, and we need a master plan to address this. The same applies for our aging sewer structure. And we need follow-through with such a plan.”
