Midwest Salute to the Arts is this weekend. Here’s the schedule.
The 30th annual Midwest Salute to the Arts continues from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, at Moody Park, Fairview Heights.
This event features art displays, art and craft demonstrations, kid’s activities, a food court and more. Admission is free.
Saturday, August 25
▪ 10 a.m. — Children’s Gallery opens: Children ages 5-13 enter the gallery and choose a piece of art. After the child has selected a piece, they are encouraged to visit the artist who created it. The cost to enter the gallery is $10. Gallery opens at 10 a.m. Saturday and will remain open until all art is gone.
▪ 10 to 11:30 a.m. — Mike Snodgrass performs on the acoustic stage.
▪ 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. — Kids entertainment: Dooley the Clown.
▪ 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. — Kids entertainment: Illustrator Randall Spriggs.
▪ 11 a.m. to noon — Kids entertainment: Bubble Bus.
▪ 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. — Dave & Greg Trio perform on the classic stage.
▪ 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. — Louis Michael performs on the acoustic stage.
▪ 3:30 to 5 p.m. — Miss Jubilee performs on the classic stage. Led by vocalist Valerie Kirchhoff, Miss Jubilee performs “hot jazz, hokum, and low-down blues from the 1920s and ‘30s.”
▪ 4 to 7 p.m. — 30th Anniversary Live Demonstration by Vesna Delevska inside the art gallery.
▪ 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. — U.S. Air Force Band of Mid America Mobility Brass Quintet performs on the classic stage.
▪ 6:30 to 8 p.m. — Jenny & Matt perform on the acoustic stage.
Sunday, August 26
▪ 11 a.m. to noon — Kids entertainment: Bubble Bus.
▪ 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. — Carrier Tunes performs on the acoustic stage.
▪ 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. — Kids entertainment: Dooley the Clown.
▪ 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. — Kids entertainment: Illustrator Randall Spriggs.
▪ Noon to 3 p.m. — 30th Anniversary Live Demonstration by Vesna Delevska inside the art gallery.
▪ 1 to 2 p.m. — Kids entertainment: Taleypo the Storyteller. Marilyn Kinsella of Fairview Heights is “Taleypo the Storyteller.”
▪ 1 to 3 p.m. — Bottlesnake Blues performs on the classic stage.
▪ 3 to 5 p.m. — Mark Holland performs on the acoustic stage.
