Police are looking for a man they say shot two people, killing one, at a MetroLink station in St. Louis on Tuesday night.
According to a Post-Dispatch report, police said the suspect shot the two around 6:30 p.m. above the station tracks on South Grand Boulevard, just south of Highway 40 near St. Louis University. One man was shot in the face while the other was shot in the chest. They were both transported to the hospital, where one later died.
Police said an argument began between the suspect and one of the men at a Chipotle restaurant nearby and progressed to the station on the west side of Grand, the report said. After the shooting, the suspect headed north on foot.
Police are still waiting on video footage from the MetroLInk station.
Police closed the station at the time of the investigation, the report said, and the South Grand Boulevard bridge also was closed. Potential riders at the station were told the buses were rerouted.
“My message to the public is to ride MetroLink, be aware of your surroundings, and if there’s any problems, there’s MetroLink security — call them and contact police,” St. Louis Deputy Chief Rochelle Jones was quoted as saying.
