Things to do Tuesday: Play cards, talk daffodils and get to know Africa

CARD PARTY: The St. Luke Perpetual Help Sodality will have a card party and luncheon at noon Tuesday at St. Luke’s Hall, 226 N. Church St. in Belleville. You can play cards, bingo and games for prizes. Menu is salisbury steak with gravy, mashed potatoes, glazed carrots and cake. Cost is $6.

DAFFY TALK: O’Fallon Garden Club invites the public to hear a talk on “The Wonderful World of Daffodils” at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Rock Springs Park, 1428 E. Third St. in O’Fallon. Lynn Slackman of the Greater St. Louis Daffodil Society will be the speaker.

INSIDE AFRICA: Marilyn Hungerford, Seeds of Blessing consultant, will speak at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the International Women’s Organization’s community room at Eden Village, 200 S. Station Road in Glen Carbon. She recently returned from Ghana, Africa, where she met with women basket weavers, who us their profits to educate their children and lift them out of poverty. Baskets will be available for purchase.
