'Absolute Unit' of a Basset Hound Shows up at Doggy Day Care and Everyone's in Love
There are big dogs, and there are little dogs. But then there are BIG DOGS. Personally, I have Chihuahua mixes, who come in on the small end of the spectrum. In many ways, having a toy breed can be a lot more work because they're so needy. It's worth it for the extra cuddles, though, in theory.
This video shows an enormous Basset Hound, and you guessed it, he's down for the scritches. "Guys, look at this ABSOLUTE UNIT [who] came to my job today," the on-screen text sets the scene. The reveal doesn't disappoint, as the gigantor Hound dog waddles into view. The caption adds to it nicely, "Best day ever, OMG. 130 lbs of pure wrinkle." That's the size of a person!

Needless to say, commenters absolutely loved the UNIT himself. "Not to brag, but I have one of those, but not as big," @clairestewart remarked. That's definitely a humble-brag right there.
@Safe Haven for Animals got into his head with, "Him: "Mom/Dad, I had so much fun at school today. Everyone loved me so much." The poster replied, "Like he's just so cute. He only came for the day, and I'll probably never see him again, but he melted my whole heart." All of our hearts have melted, too.
Finally, @maplegroverebel 2.0 joked, "OMG! That's the lowest low-rider clearance allowed." He somehow passed inspection.

We couldn't agree more that these adorable and fun-loving beasties make for excellent companions. They're also known for having incredible scenting abilities, so don't be surprised if they want their share of dinner nightly.
While the AKC states they only weigh up to about 65 pounds (in part due to their short stature), we have now definitively seen how chonky these guys can get with the right motivation.
