Moment Man Hiking in Utah Warned He's ‘Definitely Going To Die'

A man was taking a relaxing walk through an iconic national park when a passing stranger’s child made a comment that has now been seen by millions of people.

Mark Duchesneau, 36, lives in Rhode Island but recently took a trip to the famous Delicate Arch at Arches National Park in Utah, which features incredible views-but a steep drop and a “very narrow” trail.

Now Duchesneau’s trip has unexpectedly led him to go viral, as a video he took of the stunning views happened to catch a comment from a child who was walking towards him on the path.

“At that moment the trail was very narrow, so I let the family, including the child, take the inside closer to wall while I walked outside near the edge,” he explained to Newsweek.

“I was capturing the moment on my phone camera when I heard the child make that comment. It caught me off guard, but I found it to be hilarious!”

In a video posted on April 5 to his TikTok account @mark.duchesneau which has been liked close to 400,000 times, he captured the views as a family walked towards him on the narrow trail.

He then stood right on the edge to let them pass-and captured the young child declaring: “He’s definitely going to die.”

The family burst out laughing, and Duchesneau responded with a simple word: “Thanks.”

“Kid thinks I’m standing too close to the edge and tells his parents,” Duchesneau laughed in the caption.

He told Newsweek he “thought it was a very funny moment, and everyone that heard it was laughing. His parents must [have] had a conversation with him about what happens if you get too close to the edge!”

Duchesneau’s video has been viewed a whopping 2.2 million times-and his TikTok bio now tells visitors to his page: “In case anyone was wondering, I survived the hike at Arches.”

Viewers loved the interaction, one commenter writing: “Think mom got her point across and it stuck!”

“His mom was totally trying to get through to him how serious the stakes would be if he wasn't careful on their hike,” another agreed, as yet another put it: “A safety conversation happened before this walk and honestly I love that.”

And one summed it up: “Kids, man. They just blurt what comes into their brains. And it's hysterical.”
