Woman Forgets To Wear Sports Bra for Skydive, Hysterics Over Video Footage
A Generation Z woman has earned praise for her unquestionable bravery while doing a skydive, but it is the wardrobe malfunction she suffered in the process that has left internet users in hysterics.
In November 2025, Chanell ”t Zand was fortunate enough to take part in a skydive while working on special ATV coverage to mark the 50th anniversary of Suriname's Independence Day. Ahead of the celebration, Zand, 26, organized an interview with Free 2 Fly skydiving group, and was even invited to take part during their warmup dives on November 24.
Needless to say, Zand, of Wanica, Suriname, had to agree. She told Newsweek that it is a “once-in-a-year event,” and she couldn't pass up such a wonderful opportunity. What could possibly go wrong?
“This only happens once a year in my country, so it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me,” Zand said. “So, of course, I said yes, not realizing at the time how much this decision would impact my life.
“Even though part of me was excited, I tried to shut off my emotions so I wouldn't second-guess myself or get scared. My mind was completely blank-I wasn't trying to think about anything at all,” she continued.
Ahead of the skydive, Zand was warned not to wear anything loose that might fall off, so she opted for jeans and a gray polo shirt. Unfortunately, what was underneath the polo shirt definitely needed more consideration.
The dive was magnificent, and Zand said it was “truly indescribable.” She never imagined she would get to do something like that, and she relished every second.
However, when Zand watched the footage back, she couldn't believe her eyes.
“At first, I was in awe. But, halfway through, my eyes widened, and then I burst out laughing,” she said.
The footage shows Zand and the instructor jumping out of the aircraft before sticking their arms out and gliding through the air. But, once the parachute was released, Zand quickly realized her mistake. She only wore a regular bra for the skydive, not knowing that a supportive sports bra was clearly the way to go.
Looking back, Zand joked that there were “subtle signs” she missed at the time, as she was offered a sweater for more coverage, while another instructor advised that she may wish to button up her shirt. Indeed, Zand told Newsweek those comments should have made her realize that “a wardrobe malfunction was possible.”
Zand couldn't resist sharing the hilarious footage on TikTok (@xchanii_z), with a helpful tip for others to “wear a sports bra” when skydiving. In just a matter of days, the video has gone viral with over 14.7 million views and more than 1.2 million likes on TikTok at the time of writing.
The online response has been overwhelmingly positive, as people commended Zand's fearlessness, and many women could relate to the mishap of attire. She is so grateful to N.V. Telesur, Suriname's national telecommunications provider, and Free 2 Fly skydiving group for giving her this opportunity.
“I feel truly honored to have made millions of people laugh. During difficult times, it wasn't just God and loved ones who helped me-but silly TikTok videos also lifted my spirit. Receiving so many heartfelt messages from people saying my video brightened their day means the world to me,” Zand said.
Many viewers quickly took to the comments to laud Zand's wardrobe malfunction, leading to more than 7,100 responses on the TikTok post so far.
One comment reads: “I thought they were looking good on the descent and then the parachute inflated…and so did they.”
Another TikTok user wrote: “Not you coming fully equipped with parachutes.”
A third person posted: “What in the airbags is this stunt you pulled?”
