Dachshunds React to Dad in Pool Like Tiny Lifeguards on Duty
Some dogs have very specific jobs, and they must take them seriously. Other pups take on self-appointed roles, and while they think their job is very important, most of the time they just bring chaos-and a little comedy-along with them. Two Dachshund pups have become the backyard lifeguards their family didn't know they needed, and every time Dad gets into the pool, they turn into tiny, four-legged poolside monitors.
Scooby and Butter, an adorable Doxie duo, have decided that every time someone, especially their dad, gets into the pool, lives are at risk. @scoobyandbutter's recent TikTok video gives followers a glimpse into one of their latest "lifeguarding shifts," and it's hilarious to watch!

Mom wrote in the caption, "He entered the pool and activated the tiny emergency response team." Butter, the little cream-colored Dachshund, starts running around the perimeter of the pool as Dad begins his lap swim. Scooby follows close behind, and the two are clearly convinced that Dad needs rescuing immediately.
I wonder if the doggie duo ever jumps into the pool and swims with Dad, or if they just follow his laps from the edge. Butter is especially vocal as his human swims from one end to the other-he's clearly trying to say something! Maybe it's, "Get out of the water this instant," like a stern mother would... or maybe he's generously giving Dad 5 more minutes to swim!
Followers React to the Pups and Their Lifeguarding Skills
TikTokers really loved this video and shared their thoughts in the comment section. @traceyhunt679 suggested, "They are ready to throw in the life preservers!" Another fan, @leighvinel, said, "OMG, my two do the exact same and jump on top of him to 'try' and save him!"
A fellow Dachshund parent, @ollietheminidachshund, laughingly asked, "Why is this so accurate?" and continued, "Oliver barks his head off at anyone who enters the pool!"
My favorite part is how they teeter on the ledge of the spa section of the pool without ever jumping in. They just want to make sure he hears their objections as he swims closer-too funny!
