Roku Quietly Adds 7 More Free Channels for Users
Making waves appears to be the M.O. for Roku as of late, from joining forces with Fox to revamping its home screen. It only makes sense that the streaming platform's next move is to do what it does best: bless its users with a handful of new channels to explore.
The Roku Channel has quietly added seven new live TV channels, continuing a steady expansion that's already brought upwards of 80 free additions to the platform this year.
With the latest update, Roku's free streaming service now offers more than 500 live TV channels spanning news, sports, entertainment, documentaries, and lifestyle programming.
Roku Has Been Expanding Its Free TV Lineup All Year
The latest additions continue an aggressive rollout of new free channels in 2026.
Roku added 30 channels in April, another 15 in May, and 20 more earlier this month. The newest update brings the total to 72 new free channels added in just the past three months. While the additions aren't accompanied by a major announcement and fanfare, they do significantly expand the amount of free programming available through The Roku Channel.
Seven New Free Channels on Roku
The newest additions include a mix of sports, documentaries, reality programming, and entertainment:
- World Surf League: Professional surfing competitions, highlights, and original programming.
- History Untold: Documentaries exploring fascinating moments throughout human history.
- Third Watch: Episodes of the popular first responder drama.
- Nosey Daytime Talk: Classic daytime talk shows and celebrity interviews.
- All Out Alaska: Documentaries and reality series exploring Alaska's wilderness, wildlife, and frontier lifestyle.
- Extreme Living: Programs showcasing adventurous lifestyles and unique ways of living.
- Jesser: Content from the popular YouTube creator known for sports challenges, basketball videos, and entertainment.
More Free Streaming Choices on Roku
The Roku Channel has steadily become one of the largest free ad-supported streaming services available, offering hundreds of live channels alongside thousands of on-demand movies and television shows.
The addition of seven more channels may not seem massive on its own, but combined with Roku's recent rollout of dozens of new offerings, it gives viewers even more reasons to browse before paying for another streaming subscription.
For Roku users looking to expand their viewing options without adding another monthly bill, the platform's free lineup is worth checking out.
