Brunch with Santa
Hidden Lake Winery & Banquet Center in Aviston offers Brunch with Santa from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday. The meal includes scrambled eggs, bacon, French toast, sausage, biscuits and gravy, ham, home fries, garlic bread, pasta Alfredo, mashed potatoes, green beans and dessert for $11.95 for adults or $6.95 for children 6-12 (free for 5 and younger). St. Louis Rivermen concert
The St. Louis Jazz Club will present music by the St. Louis Rivermen from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Doubletree Hotel, 1973 Craigshire Road in St. Louis (doors open at 1:15 p.m.). Free parking. Santa Paws Photos
Children and pets can get photos taken with Santa at a Santa Paws fundraiser for Partners for Pets, a non-profit, no-kill shelter in Troy. Hours are noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at Traveling Tails Inn, 2764 Route 66 Business Park Drive in Edwardsville. The cost is $5 if photo is emailed or $10 for a 4-by-6 print. Snacks and wine tasting. Jingle Bell Rock dinner show
The Lucky Old Sons Jingle Bell Rock dinner show will be take place at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 18 at the World Shooting Complex Seasons Events Center in Sparta. The four-piece, piano-driven band will perform their unique style of Christmas tunes, plus classic ‘50s and ‘60s rock ‘n’ roll and rockabilly. Remembrance Service
Compassionate Friends has its 23rd annual Interdenominational Remembrance Service at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital’s Chapel, 211 S. Third St. in Belleville. The service is for families who have experienced the death of a child. Reception to follow in the Centennial Room (next to the chapel). No reservations needed. Boiler Donation
Tiger Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning and Electrical Services is installing a boiler at the new Partners for Pets shelter in Troy so homeless dogs and cats will have a warm place to stay this winter. Partners for Pets is a non-profit, no-kill operation. Volunteers visit animal-control facilities and rescue animals that have used up their time or that are too sick or fragile for typical shelters. Tiger Plumbing is a full-service plumbing, heating, cooling and electric company that has been in business for 21 years in the metro-east.
Smart Growth Speaker
Dick Silling of Citizens for Smart Growth will be the featured speaker at the next Metro East Pachyderm Club meeting at noon Friday at Amore Ristorante, 1050 Eastgate Drive in O’Fallon. Public is invited. Optional lunch from the buffet or menu beginning at 11:30 a.m.
