Special Olympics Basketball
Special Olympics Illinois athletes will compete in the District H Basketball Competition and Individual Skills on Sunday at Wesclin High School and Middle School in Trenton. Games begin at 9 a.m. and continue throughout the day. Opening ceremonies at 10:15 a.m. will include a flag presentation by Trenton Knights of Columbus Council 2932, team announcements and performances by Wesclin Dance Team and Pep Band. Free admission. Chinese Activist to Speak
Principia College Speaker Series will present Tiananmen Square pro-democracy activist Yang Jianli, who now lives in the United States, as the Ernie and Lucha Vogel Moral Courage Lecturer at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the college’s Wannamaker Hall in Elsah.
