Art on the Square will again offer sign language interpreters at the three-day juried art show that begins Friday and runs through Sunday in downtown Belleville.

Nine volunteer experts, who are licensed professionals and students from Southwestern Illinois College, will sign during spoken and music events on the Living with Art Interior Design Stage and the Main Stage, as well as during entertainment at the Wine Court.

“It is important to us to take part in this venue, as it gives us the opportunity to make Art on the Square accessible to all patrons, regardless of their hearing,” said Amanda Votrian, sign language practicum instructor at SWIC.
