Burgers, beer and sushi on menu at new restaurant and bar coming to O’Fallon
A Kentucky-based chain that’s opening a new restaurant and bar in O’Fallon this spring specializes in beer, burgers and sushi.
Each location of Drake’s Come Play also doubles as an entertainment venue.
“The restaurants have a turf park with a giant Jenga game, cornhole and Connect 4,” said spokesman Leela Atchison. “Also, there’s shuffleboard inside, and then we have weekly events, like trivia games. It’s a fun atmosphere.”
Atchison is marketing manager for the parent company, Bluegrass Hospitality Group, which is headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky.
The company operates 14 locations of Drake’s Come Play in five states, a well as three locations of Malone’s Steakhouse, two locations of Harry’s American Bar & Grill, one location of OBC Kitchen and one location of Malone’s Prime Events & Receptions.
The company also serves sushi on two university campuses under the name Aqua Sushi.
“We have a full sushi menu (at Drake’s), so that sets us apart,” Atchison said. “We have a window open to the sushi kitchen so you can see your sushi rolled fresh to order.”
In O’Fallon, Drake’s will occupy a 5,989-square-foot building that’s now under construction at 1160 Central Park Drive, along Interstate 64, between Drury Inn & Suites and the former Gold’s Gym. The restaurant will seat 196 people.
The menu will feature appetizers, chili, salads, smashed burgers and other sandwiches, chicken, fish, tacos and quesadillas. The bar will serve wine, beer, and cocktails, including seasonal drinks.
“Drake’s will add a new level of dining and entertainment to our already-diverse choices here in O’Fallon,” said Debbie Arell-Martinez, executive director of O’Fallon-Shiloh Chamber of Commerce. “We can’t wait to try Drake’s out!”
Bluegrass expects to begin hiring employees for Drake’s Come Play in March and open the restaurant the first week of May.
