This southwestern Illinois festival will feature nearly 25 food trucks
The Alton Food Truck Festival returns to Liberty Bank Amphitheater Saturday, Aug. 28 after the COVID-19 pandemic canceled the event in 2020.
With more than 20 food trucks set to participate in the event, foodies will appreciate the variety of cuisine that will include “the American classics of Pig On A Wing to the Asian-inspired offerings of Seoul Taco,” a recent press release stated.
“We are pleased to be bringing this popular event back to Liberty Bank Amphitheater this year,” said Robert Stephan, Amphitheater Commission chair. “This event has grown with each year, becoming the largest food truck festival in the Midwest outside of Chicago, and we expect this year’s seventh addition to be the largest yet.”
Live entertainment will take place on the amphitheater stage. The ultimate party band, Groovethang, is known for “faithfully reproducing the music of such greats as Earth Wind & Fire, K.C & The Sunshine Band and Prince … to current hits from Katy Perry, Pit Bull, Daft Punk and Maroon 5,” the release states. Groovethang’s song list covers hits from the 1970s to today.
In addition to the great eats and entertainment, a wide variety of craft beers will be offered at multiple beverage stations at the event. Selections from 4 Hands Brewing, Boulevard Brewing Company, Civil Life Brewing Company and others will be available.
The Alton Amphitheater Commission will offer a draft beer special during the event. Customers can purchase a 22-ounce aluminum cup for $9 with their draft choice. The cup is theirs to keep and can be refilled with other beer offerings for $8 each.
Non-alcoholic beverages, tea and sodas will also be available for purchase.
